Service and Application Engineer
Here at Aberlink Ltd we are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated Service and Application Engineer to support our expanding range of innovative metrology products throughout the UK.
Ideally based out of our head office in Stroud, Gloucestershire. This role will be varied, challenging and comes with significant responsibilities, these include: calibration, service, Diagnostics and repair of our range of CMMs, as well as applications support and software training for end users. Other less frequent activities required of this role could include: assisting with the set up and break down of exhibitions, and performing demonstrations of our CMM's to potential customers. If it appeals to you, then overseas travel is available supporting foreign distributors.
As you can imagine, due to the nature of this role it isn't a 9-5 position, so a flexible attitude to your working hours is essential. A company vehicle will be provided, a full driving licence will be required. You will also need good communication skills to create the right impression as the face of Aberlink.
Because of the niche field we work in, previous experience of CMMs isn’t expected as all necessary training will be given, however a good understanding of mechanical engineering and the ability to problem solve is essential.

Mechanical Assembly Technician
Aberlink Limited manufacture a range of CMM’s, vision measuring machines (VMMs), as well as write our own 3D measurement software. All of which are sold in the UK and throughout the world. Our metrology products are renowned for being easy to use, great value for money and above all, providing our customers with measuring solutions that they can trust for life.
To continue to keep our growing customer base supplied with our excellent products, we are looking for a technically competent production operative to build our world-renowned CMM’s. The ideal candidate will have an engineering background, be familiar with mechanical principles, and be a logical problem-solving thinker. They must also have an eye for detail and be able to follow verbal and written assembly instructions. Computer literacy is essential as is the ability to work to scheduled manufacturing deadlines.
Previous mechanical assembly experience will definitely be an advantage for anyone applying for this position. This role can be challenging and therefore rewarding to the right applicant.

IT Assistant
Here at Aberlink we’re looking for an enthusiastic individual to assemble and test controllers for our innovative range of CMM’s. These controllers are windows-based PCs with additional constituant parts including motion control cards, servo motor amplifiers, and various other electrical components needed for the CMM’s to function.
To fill this position, you need to be a self-motivated individual who can manage their time to ensure the controllers are finished on time to avoid production delays. The ability to solve problems logically is also an essential skill required to fill this position. This role would ideally suit someone with previous PC building experience and with a passion for anything PC based.
To successfully build and test our controllers you would ideally have a good understanding of Microsoft Windows, be able to read wiring diagrams, and understand basic electrical circuits. Previous experience of soldering will be a bonus as would any mechanical assembly skills. These however are not essential as full training will be given.
